DeAnthony Arnett, a former top wide receiver recruit from Saginaw, has asked for his release at Tennessee and will transfer to a program closer to home.
Arnett’s father has been ill and his condition has worsened, prompting DeAnthony to transfer back to Michigan according to tigerdroppings.com.
Tennessee is expected to grant his release. He almost certainly will end up at either Michigan or Michigan State, after picking Tennessee over the two in-state schools and Southern Cal.
He caught 24 passes for 242 yards as a true freshman for the Volunteers.
Out of Saginaw High School, Arnett was a consensus four-star recruit. He would be a very nice addition to the wide receiving group in East Lansing, bringing a lot of play-making ability and speed.
No doubt this is a tough situation, and despite the hope he ends up in green and white, you gotta wish the best for his family no matter where he ends up.
