Athlete Williams commits to MSU, joins teammate Terry

Michigan State found its quarterback for the class of 2013 from Erie (Pa.) Cathedral Prep, and now it added an explosive athlete from the same school.

Standout Delton Williams committed to Michigan State on Tuesday over West Virginia, joining Damion Terry as future Spartans.

He is coming off a huge game last Friday in which he caught 11 passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 139 yards on 12 carries, including an 85-yard touchdown run.

Williams is a 6-2, 205-pound safety/athlete, who was named to the Pennsylvania Sportwriters’ Class AAA All-State team as a defensive back in his junior season — the only junior among the 12 players on the defensive honorees. Williams totaled nearly 1,900 all-purpose yards and 13 touchdowns in just eight games as a junior.

His other offers included Boston College, Nebraska, Penn State, Pitt and West Virginia. He is the 14th commitment in the class of 2013 and is rated a three-star recruit by Rivals, Scout and 247Sports.
